Welcome to the Southern Lakes Transmissions Website. Many people visiting this site will know me as Richie, formally of Acton Automotive. To follow is a breif description of my working career so far. I have 30 years experience in engine and transmissions on standard, performance and offroad racing units. I owned Acton Automotive for 14 years specialising in Volkswagen, Subaru and BMW. I then saw a need to specialise in race engines and transmissions hence our name now, SLT Racing. I was a founding member of the Canterbury OffRoad Racing Club and have been involved in all aspects of the club. I am agency trained in Volkswagen which also enables me to specialise in vintage VW of all makes, models and stages of mechanical repair.
